The daughter of Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher became a cultural icon when she starred as “Princess Leia” in the first <em>Star Wars</em> trilogy at 19 years old. Forever changed, Carrie’s life did not stay picture perfect.  Fisher<strong> </strong>is the life of the party in this uproarious and sobering look at her Hollywood hangover.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Tony Award<sup>®</sup> winner <strong>Beth Leavel</strong>, now starring in <strong>Benny Andersson</strong> and <strong>Björn Ulvaeus’ </strong>global smash hit musical <strong>MAMMA MIA!</strong> on Broadway, will be featured on the American Theatre Wing’s televised “Working in the Theatre” series on a “Leading Ladies 2009” panel this <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 5:00p</span> on CUNY – TV (Channel 75 in the New York metropolitan area).</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">For the first episode of the season, the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League teamed up to present a “Leading Ladies” panel also featuring Tony Award<sup>®</sup> winners Laura Benanti (<em>Gypsy</em>, currently appearing in <em>In the Next Room, or The Vibrator Play</em>), Bebe Neuwirth (<em>Chicago</em>, currently appearing in <em>The Addams Family</em>) and Alice Ripley (<em>Next to Normal)</em>. </p>

<p style="text-align:left;">The episode will debut on CUNY TV on Sunday, October 25th at 5:00 p.m. (subsequent airings on Friday, October 30<sup>th</sup> at 9:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Saturday, October 31<sup>st</sup>  at 11:00 a.m. and Sunday, November 1<sup>st</sup>  at 5:00 p.m.).  The program will also be available online at americantheatrewing.org/wit/ and iTunes.com beginning Wednesday, October 28th.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Beth Leavel recently starred as “the Witch” in <em>Into the Woods</em> at Pittsburgh CLO, “Miss Hannigan” in <em>Annie</em> at the St. Louis MUNY as well as the world premiere musical <em>Minsky’s</em> at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles and in <em>City</em><em> Center</em><em> Encores!</em> production of <em>No, No, Nanette</em>.</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">She received 2006 Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critic’s Circle and Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle awards for her title role performance in <em>The Drowsy Chaperone. </em>She has appeared in the Broadway musicals <em>Young Frankenstein</em>, <em>42nd Street</em> (original and revival), <em>The Civil War</em>,<em> Showboat</em> and the original company of <em>Crazy for You</em>.</p>
